Township Police Department
We are proud to serve the community of Lower
Swatara Township and share the responsibility
with the residents to provide a safe and crime
free environment. We are located at 1499 Spring
Garden Drive Middletown, PA. 17057. The
administrative offices of the department are
normally open Monday through Friday from 8:00
A.M. to 4:00 P.M., and can be contacted at
717-939-0463. Police response should be
requested by dialing 9-1-1 for Emergencies and
717-558-6900 for Non-Emergencies. The Township
of Lower Swatara Police Department is without a
doubt one of the most professional and effective
police agencies in Dauphin County.
Our Department serves a community of
approximately 8,500 residents patrolling the 15
square miles of township roadways, 300
businesses, 3 Industrial Parks, Harrisburg
International Airport, Pennsylvania State
University and three public schools. The Police
Department has a Uniform Patrol Division and
Criminal Investigation Unit. We are a full
service police department since 1970 who
responds to service and emergency calls and
conducts investigations 24 hours a day 7 days a
week.

human life. Our highest priority will always be
the protection of human life and the
constitutional rights of all citizens. Protect
the lives, safety, and property of our fellow
citizens. We are committed to providing a
highly visible presence in all our neighborhoods
in order to reduce crime, disorder, traffic
violations, fear, and all negative factors that
impact the quality of life. Fight crime
through prevention and aggressively pursuing
violators. Our primary focus is crime
prevention. However, when crimes do occur, we
shall react with aggressive law enforcement
methods to apprehend and prosecute the
offender. Vigorous law enforcement is an
effective deterrent to crime. Take ownership
of and solve neighborhood problems. Each
member of the Department must care about the
quality of life in our neighborhoods. All our
personnel are charged with the responsibility to
take ownership of those neighborhood problems
they are cognizant of and personally take action
to their fullest capability to mitigate those
problems. Maintain the highest standard of

compromised professionalism requires impeccable
conduct and the maintenance of high levels of
